Company Highlights

The company began in 1948 when a man named G. Howard Lund built an aluminum duck boat. This impressive model was created with such stunning precision that it caught the eye of an Inland Marine Corporation salesman. The individual saw the prototype and quickly put in an order for 50 models. Soon, others were purchasing and ordering Lund boats, which led to rapid expansion of the endeavor.

 

In 1961, Lund was reincorporated as Lund Metal Craft, Inc. Soon after, the company broadened the product line and began offering fiberglass fishing boats. With the purchase of the Shell Lake Boat Company, Lund was able to offer family and sport boats as well. Lund continued improving and expanding their product line over the coming years, never losing their focus on quality.
