Dick Thayer: Since founding Thayer's Marine in the mid 60's, Dick has worked hard to expand the business to what it has become today. Recently, Dick has begun taking a backseat to the action and spending more time at home. We all miss him here at the shop, but we also agree that he needs a break after working so hard for so long!

Mary Thayer: For years, Mary sat next to Dick, behind the desk crunching the numbers. Â In 2010 Mary left us to visit a much better place (heaven). Â This beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother will be greatly missed, but her legacy will always live on through her family. |
Rich Thayer: Rich is the service and sales manager here at Thayer's. He has led our service department into the 21st century making it one of the most reputable and technologically advanced on the entire East Coast. Â If you have an issue, chances are, he can find the solution. |
Dolores Thayer: Dolores, Rich's wife, is our Office Manager. She is in charge of the business financials and accounting, along with her full time job as the Facilities Supervisor of the Norwich Public Schools. |
Richie Thayer: After graduating from the University of Hartford, Richie's mission was to build Thayer's Marine into a boat selling and customer service powerhouse while never losing sight of his important family values. Â Its those values that have helped to get our family's business through the past couple years. Â Richie handles parts, sales, financing and all of your customer service issues. |
Rachel Thayer: Rachel is a graduate of the University of Hartford Barney School of Business and is now working full time in the store. She can help you with anything you need from parts to service questions and adds a feminine touch to business. Â She has also recently opened her own business, RachieT's, a screen printing and graphic design firm. |
Allison Thayer: Allison is Richie's wife and currently works in Hartford as a District Manager for a major retail company. Every weekend Allison is here to help out in the store and keep us company. |
Elwin Sherman: Elwin is our lead technician and been with us for about 11 years. He is a Certified BRP Master Technician and also a Certified SeaDoo Technician. Â He carries Mercury and Yamaha certifications as well. Â Elwin's experience and expertise is vital to continuing our "fix it right the first time" mentality. |
Carlton Ward: As our Marina Manager, Carlton is in charge of making sure our grounds are organized and presentable and has been doing a great job for 8 years. Â He is probably the busiest part of our team. Â He has to help the Service and Sales staff, keep the grounds clean, and yet, he somehow maintains a smile throughout the day. |
Chuck Gates: Chuck is a retired Navy Chief with over 30 years in our armed services. Chuck now works as a boat rigger and detailer. Chuck is one of the most dedicated employees Thayer's Marine has ever seen and for the last 15 years he has always been the first one to arrive and the last one to leave, never complaining about the jobs he is asked to do. |
William Gwiazdowski: William is our youngest team member and works in the service department repairing engines and SeaDoos. William started with us four years ago and with Elwin's help, has began his certification processes with both Mercury and Evinrude.  He undoubtedly has a great future ahead, and continues to improve each and every day. |
Zack Tarner: Zack is Rachel's boyfriend and has become quite a valued part of our family. Â He manages our retail web presence and helps Richie in the store and with sales. Â He is one of the best at helping to maintain the high levels of customer satisfaction that are necessary for a healthy growing retail business. |

Melissa Perkins: Melissa is the newest addition to our family, however, she is no rookie to the marine business with several years of experience detailing and shrinkwrapping larger ships. She carries with her a business degree, and very bright, personable and hardworking attitude. We are happy to welcome her to the family. |
